Construction Technology

Electrical Systems

This program prepares students for entry-level employment in the electrical field or for a post-secondary degree in construction. Students gain knowledge and skills in safety, tool usage, residential wiring, commercial wiring, and motor controls.

Students are not required to participate for all four years; however, students who wish to pursue a career in the Electrical industry are encouraged to do so. Students must participate for two years to earn a Electrical Systems Business and Industry Endorsement.

Construction/Carpentry
This program prepares students for entry-level employment in the construction field or for a post-secondary degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering. Students gain knowledge and skills in safety, tool usage, construction mathematics, building materials, framing, reading blueprints, and the construction process.

Students are not required to participate for all four years; however, students who wish to pursue a career in the Construction industry are encouraged to do so. Students must participate for two years to earn a Construction/Carpentry Business and Industry Endorsement.

This course is a hands-on approach that provides skill specific construction methods, and occupation skills to assist the student in obtaining and maintaining employment. Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning (HVAC)

This program prepares students for entry-level employment in the HVAC field or for a post-secondary degree in construction. Students will acquire knowledge and skills in safety, principles of HVAC theory, use of tools, codes, installation of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, heat pumps, troubleshooting techniques, various duct systems, and maintenance practices.

Students are not required to participate for all four years; however, students who wish to pursue a career in the HVAC industry are encouraged to do so. Students must participate for two years to earn a HVAC Business and Industry Endorsement.

Students will learn to identify and use power tools, how to apply basic plumbing mathematics and plumbing drawing; and how to identify, fit, and use plastic, copper, cost iron, carbon steel and corrugated stainless pipe.
